WHEN IT IS TIME TO LEAVE WARNINGSWhen it is time to leave, there is one thing you absolutely do not want to do, unless it is life threatening emergency. Leave when your abuser is not at home. Plan this carefully for your safety.
ONCE YOU LEAVE DO NOT GO BACK FOR ANY REASON. We can provide you with the shelter nearest you, if you don't know, or if you have no where to go. If you have a place to go shelters can help you with section 8 housing, that you may not be able to get on your own, and legal aid, sometimes depending the area you live in, with furniture, and other things necessary items to start over. It is extremely important you get a restraining order or order of protection. Different states use different names, but it does the same thing. They can help with this. You do not have to stay there if you have another place to temporarily stay. They will still help you. They are a very important resource. If you have an emergency the police can, and should get you help. EMAIL ME FOR THE CLOSEST SHELTER TO YOU IF YOU DO NOT KNOW. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU AND TO HELP IN ANY WAY WE CAN. Title your email EMERGENCY ,so I will read it immediately. The following is a list of things you should take when you leave.
If you can, let us know you are leaving, we will have thousands of people praying for your safety, and all we ask is get us a message you are safe PLEASE. We will continue to support you and help you, and pray for you. I have one girl I have been helping for three years, just because you leave, it is the GIANT STEP, but it is a long process, before everything is OK. It can be done, you can live a good life free from abuse. TAKE JESUS BY THE HAND AND HE WILL HELP YOU. HE NEVER FAILS. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU WHO TAKE THIS STEP TO FREEDOM AND A BETTER LIFE. IT IS THERE, YOU CAN DO IT.
